Membrane Light Transmission ECS-TR-002

Total luminous flux transmittance, both faces. Translucent 42.0% diffused, transparent 70.5% diffused. Includes why the translucent film is the right choice over an LED array even though it passes less light. Poznan University of Technology, method per CIE 130-1998, report 0212/PRJG/0630.

ASTM E84 Surface Burning Characteristics ECS-TR-001

Intertek results reported per finish: gloss 5 / 300, matte 10 / 300, satin 15 / 250, flame spread and smoke developed. White specimens. The laboratory assigned no classification, and the report says so plainly, along with what the data does not cover.

What we do instead of photometry, today

A lighting designer needs a light level. Until the IES files exist, this is how we close that gap, and on many projects it is the better answer anyway. On a large commercial project we build a mockup at the real cavity depth, with the actual membrane, the actual LED pitch and the actual driver, and you meter it in the room. A measured reading off the real assembly beats a modeled number from a generic file.
